Deborah Rosenberg is a professor of Costume Design and has been a member of the Theatre Arts faculty at Southern Oregon University since 1999. Deborah designed the current Costume Curriculum and currently teaches a six-term Costume Design sequence as well as classes in Stage Makeup and Costume Crafts. Deborah served as department Chair of Theatre Arts for a year and a half and served as Co-Chair of Creative Arts for three years. Deborah is also a founding faculty member of theatre’s summer program, which offers a Master’s degree in Theatre Studies.

Deborah has a BA in Anthropology from Trent University in Ontario and a Master of Fine Arts from the University of North Carolina School of the Arts. Deborah came to Southern Oregon from New York State where she taught at Niagara University, SUNY and Brockport, Ithaca College and was a guest draper at Cornell University. Deborah also has worked as a freelance costume designer and has designed costumes for theatre productions in Spain, Canada and throughout the United States. She is a Jackson County Master Gardener, former member of the Rogue Valley Peace Choir and longtime president of her homeowner’s association. Deborah likes to make her own shoes and carve wood with a chainsaw.
