Dylann Loverro is an undergraduate honors student at Southern Oregon University from Ellensburg, WA. Majoring in political science and international studies with a minor in economics, she expects to earn a bachelor of science degree in 2021.
Ms. Loverro currently serves as the chief justice of the Associated Students of Southern Oregon University (ASSOU) and is the student member of SOU’s Faculty Senate University Assessment Committee. She also works as a building manager in the Stevenson Union. Dylann previously served as an international senator and as Vice Speaker of the Senate for ASSOU.
Her notable accomplishments also include drafting and co-sponsoring ASSOU legislation to create the Accessibility Senate seat, improving representation in student government for SOU students living with disabilities. Additionally, in 2018 and in 2019, Dylann received the Outstanding Continuing Student in International Studies Award at SOU.
During the 2017-2018 school year, Dylann studied abroad in Lyon, France. While there, she studied French language, politics, and culture. Fluent in French, she also worked as an English Language Assistant, teaching American history at a local middle school, as well as engineering and coding at a local high school.
Growing up in a family dedicated to education and the pursuit of knowledge helped Dylann develop a passion for learning early in life that carries with her to this day. She plans to pursue a Ph.D. following her graduation from Southern Oregon University and hopes to work for the State Department, the United Nations, or another international governmental organization.
In her free time, she enjoys camping, reading, and spending time with her family and her dogs.
