Ashley King is the compliance coordinator for Southern Oregon University, where she develops and implements policies and procedures to ensure university compliance with various state and federal laws. Her work includes extensive reporting, including the production of SOU’s Annual Clery and Security and Fire Safety Reports. With expertise in public procurement, contract administration, and policy development, she also supports university compliance for contracting and risk management. Ashley has worked at SOU for over a decade, and her prior roles include service center manager, senior purchasing and contracting specialist, and others.

An SOU governance leader, Ashley served as the inaugural chair-elect of the SOU Staff Assembly, chair of the governing body thereafter, and past chair for two years. Her commitment to service has included tenure on the SOU Budget Committee, SOU Planning Committee, and the SOU Policy Council. She also helped lead the implementation and training of SOU’s Workday transition from the Banner ecosystem for expenses, procurement, and supplier workstreams. Her professional honors include the 2023 SOU Outstanding Staff Award and the 2021 SOU Service Excellence Award.

A proud SOU Raider, Ashley graduated from SOU with summa cum laude honors, earning a B.S. in communication and dual minors in psychology and women’s studies. She was named the top graduating senior in human communication at SOU and the top graduating senior in women’s studies, awarded by the SOU chapter of the American University Women’s Association.

The mother of 8-year-old twins, Ashley enjoys spending time with her children, skiing, traveling, and volunteering for field trips at her children’s school.
