Michelle Fuentes
Michelle Fuentes is a dedicated youth services professional with extensive experience in education and detention services. She is an undergraduate student majoring in criminal justice and has dedicated much of her career to supporting youth. She recently joined the Oregon Department of Human Services as a Family Coordinator and serves in the Policy and Advocate Internship Program with Our Children Oregon.
Her journey in youth development began at Kids Unlimited as an After School Aide, and has since evolved through various roles, including her work as the Pirates to Raiders Coordinator at SOU, where she developed specialized curricula and plans to support Latino, low-income, and first-generation students. A bilingual professional, Fuentes previously led classes in SOU’s Academia Latina & Juntos en Familia programs, worked as a summer school assistant at Phoenix High School, a teaching assistant at Espial Child Environment, and a detention specialist for Jackson County.
Michelle Fuentes is a nontraditional student and mother of two who enjoys spending time with family and practicing self-care in her spare time. She is a proud Ford Foundation scholarship recipient.
