Brent Barry currently serves as the superintendent of the Phoenix-Talent School District, a position he has held since 2017. He has worked in the K-12 school district for nearly 20 years in numerous positions–from teacher and athletic director to assistant principal and school principal–and is now, its chief executive.
Superintendent Barry is proud of the strong partnership between Phoenix-Talent Schools and SOU, as the institutions support students’ transitions from middle and high school to higher education. Most recently, with supportive programming such as Academia Latina and Pirates to Raiders, Phoenix High School’s 2021 graduation rate for migrant education students was 100 percent–a first in the school’s history! He is committed to supporting students and families to meet their education and life goals.
Brent has been married to his wife Sara for the past 25 years and they have two daughters, Alexandra (22) and Lauren (20). Both are completing their undergraduate studies and applying to graduate schools in speech pathology and psychology, respectively. They enjoy camping, and traveling and share a love of music.
