Sheila Clough is the chief executive officer of Asante Ashland Community Hospital (AACH). Since her hiring in 2013, Clough led the development of a strategic plan for AACH and the significant financial turnaround of the hospital’s operations.
Prior to joining Asante, Clough served in a progression of leadership roles from 1998 through 2013 with Ministry Howard Young Health Care in Woodruff, Wisconsin, eventually rising to the role of president and chief operating officer. Howard Young operated an acute care hospital, a critical access hospital, and an assisted living facility.
Clough earned a master of business administration for healthcare executives from Cardinal Stritch University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and holds a bachelor of science degree in medical technology from the University of Minnesota. A member of the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE), Clough passed the ACHE Board examination in 2014 and was named a Fellow of the college.
Sheila is committed to service in her communities through civic and professional groups. In addition to her trusteeship at SOU, she is a member of the Ashland Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, the Lithia Springs Rotary Club, and the Oregon Association of Hospitals and Health Systems (OAHHS). Through OAHHS, she also serves on a task force for Healthcare Delivery Transformation, helping hospitals to transform the way healthcare is provided in rural communities. Clough also has developed a partnership with Ashland High School focusing on potential healthcare careers for students.
Clough’s past service has included over ten years as a Rotarian in Wisconsin, where she held the positions of president, foundation board member, Rotary Youth Exchange Officer (inbound, outbound, and rebound coordinator). She has served in myriad other community service and leadership roles.
Sheila Clough is married with two children and enjoys traveling with her family.
